When you ask what the Google Caffiene and the Freshness Update means to you, I can break it down to a fairly simple answer depending on who you are.

I buy Cheap Articles and Submit them to thousands of article directories.

You lose.

I buy lots of cheap content and add it to my site so I can have 100s of pages targeting lots of keywords.

You lose.

I focus my SEO efforts on building a ton of backlinks using automated tools instead of promoting actual content.

You lose.

I write or I have someone write 100% original, high-quality content even though I have to pay more for it and I get that content placed on high traffic websites like Squidoo.com

You win.

I have a blog that is updated with high-quality content daily.

You win.

I have reviews written often about my product, book or services.

You win.

I write and distribute press releases as often as possible with newsworthy content.

You win.

I have regularly scheduled events or webinars, etc.

You win

I put out new content often, including text content and video content.

You win

A good blog post about the winners and losers for this update says this;

Well, after several recent revisions that focused on authority and relevance, this one seems to be going directly after timeliness.

All these updates mean that Blackhats will have a harder time tricking Google to achieve higher ranking. It also means content needs to be good — really good.

In fact, any site that wants to be ranking highly in search needs to be producing autoritative, well-written, engaging, timely and relevant content.

Sound familiar? That’s newspaper-level content. We don’t mean that every site needs to be producing news per se. But the same journalistic standard that has applied to newspaper for years is now being imposed by Google on everyone.

So the good news is that sites that deserve to be ranked at the top of Google will be there, but that it’s going to require more time and resources to achieve content production at that level.

Bottom Line

If you believe that cheap methods and automated methods are the way to go to get ranked well in Google then you will not succeed. Recent Google updates have gone after scraper content, automated tools and autoblogs, content farms and more. The message is that if you are always looking for the cheapest method or the quickest method or the latest way to beat Google, then you will continue to waste your money and lose. Google will have more updates that catch the cheaters and the cheapskates.

If you are ready to start using high-quality content and good placement of that content, then call 512-322-9566 for a free consultation. We will help you create a marketing plan that actually works and one that gets rid of the need to be apprehensive about the next Google update.

I update as soon as a new release is available. Best practice is to always stay updated for security reason, as well as the bug fixes.
